There’s a good reason they are called al Qaeda in Iraq: They are al Qaeda… in… Iraq.

“See, in my line of work you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda.”
- George W. Bush, May 24, 2005

Mr. Bush defended the “War on Terror” yesterday in South Carolina — what an enlightening speech! Did you know that al Qaeda is in Iraq now? And they’re the ones who attacked us on 9/11? And they’re in Iraq?!

Number of times Al Qaeda is mentioned in yesterday’s speech: 95.
Number of times Iraq is mentioned: 104.
A little heavier on the Iraq’s, yes, but he balances them with 9 mentions of September 11th.

“The facts are that al Qaida terrorists killed Americans on 9/11, they’re fighting us in Iraq and across the world, and they are plotting to kill Americans here at home again. Those who justify withdrawing our troops from Iraq by denying the threat of al Qaida in Iraq and its ties to Osama bin Laden ignore the clear consequences of such a retreat. If we were to follow their advice, it would be dangerous for the world — and disastrous for America. We will defeat al Qaida in Iraq.”

Yep.

More crap handed to the 9/11 families

Earlier today I happened to catch a live feed on CNN.com of House Speaker Pelosi and some family members of 9/11 victims holding a conference on the “Improving America’s Security Act” (aka, the 9/11 Commission Recommendations.) Already passed by both houses of Congress, it now needs approval from a conference committee before it can be sent to Bush and signed into law.

It about made me sick— listening to Spineless Speaker Pelosi, Commissioner Hamilton, et al spew nothing but CRAP about how important the victim’s families are: “this was the first piece of legislation passed by the new Congress”, the Commission recommendations will keep us from “being attacked by Jihadist forces.”

Surprisingly, Pelosi reminded everyone that without the families there would be no Commission.

Right you are, Nancy! So then why don’t you give them a REAL investigation and answer ALL of their questions?!

Ohhh I get it, 441 days after the attacks, after finally beating the Bush Administration’s attempts to stop the investigation from happening, answering 25% of the families’ questions is what you call honor? A whitewash investigation by a Commission overflowing with conflicts of interest? No family members on the Commission? Omitted eyewitness testimony? Changing stories by NORAD? Bush & Cheney’s private testimony TOGETHER, NOT under oath, NOT recorded, and NOT revealed to the public? Complete omission of the third building that fell in Manhattan?

Give me a break.

This press conference was nothing but a fear-mongering charade trying to bring the 9/11 mindset back into play and convince the public that the Democratic-controlled Congress is actually doing something. Telling even MORE lies on top of the thousands of existing lies?
Honor is not the word I’d choose.

FEAR FEAR FEAR
AL QAEDA
ATTACKED
HIJACKED
3,000 PEOPLE
BE AFRAID!

How about honoring the families with the TRUTH for a change?

Yesterday’s tragedy in Brazil reminds us how plane crashes usually work

This is what a plane crash normally looks like:

At Least 189 Dead in Brazil Air Crash

“…The TAM airlines Airbus-320 flight that originated in Porto Alegre in southern Brazil on Tuesday cleared the airport fence at the end of the runway and the busy highway but slammed into a gas station and a TAM building, causing an inferno. Temperatures reached 1,830 degrees inside the plane, and officials said there was no way passengers could have survived.

TAM Linhas Aereas SA said 186 were on the Airbus-320 – 162 passengers, 18 TAM employees and a crew of six – and officials said three bodies of people killed on the ground had been recovered. There were fears of more dead on the ground, with 14 others taken to hospitals, where their conditions were not known.

Ninety badly charred bodies, along with the flight data recorder, had been pulled from the wreckage by midmorning, firefighters said…”

Notice that despite the “inferno” there were still large pieces of wreckage.. bodies.. flight data recorder.. you get the idea.

This is what a plane crash does not look like:

This is the supposed crash site of United Flight 93 in Shanksville, PA on September 11th, 2001. Notice there are no pieces of the plane. No bodies. Teeny tiny hole in the ground. Nothing that resembles any crash site you’ve ever seen.

Ask yourself — are you being lied to?

Stop your life for 64 minutes and watch this.

WE.

Inspired by Arundhati Roy’s “Come September” speech, this documentary was created.

It’s 64 minutes of music, life, death, war, peace, history, future, everything. It’ll knock you over… but when you get back up, you’ll be stronger than ever.

“Either way, change will come. It could be bloody, or it could be beautiful. It depends on us.”

Creating a New Paradigm

I’m reposting this wonderfully motivating article from WantToKnow.info because I think it’s time for some inspiration. The entire website is beautiful and their approach to such daunting topics as 9/11 Truth, the war, mass media cover-ups, etc. isn’t confrontational or depressing. Rather, they view activism from an empowerment and awareness perspective, one that holds a lot more promise than the endless struggle between “Us” and “Them.”

The Old Paradigm

Together, we can and will build a new paradigm on Earth. Yet in order to give meaningful suggestions for this, we first need to speak candidly about what’s happening in the world at present. It appears that there are factions within the world’s power elite which desire to exert as much control as possible over the world. Their primary means for establishing control are through promoting fear, secrecy, and polarization, and through distracting people from their deeper purpose in life. As these factions gain ever greater power and control, our freedoms and liberties are increasingly taken away, sometimes without our even realizing it.

Fear is used as a powerful tool of control by these factions of the global elite. “The terrorists want to kill us all. Your job, savings, and retirement are no longer secure. You are either for us or against us. We might be attacked at any time.” All of these messages push us towards fear. And by encouraging us to focus blame on others such as terrorists and “evil” leaders, the global power brokers push us away from feeling in control of our lives and towards the role of powerless victims. The more we slip into fear and being victims, the easier it is for us to be manipulated.

Secrecy leads to control through preventing the exposure of hidden agendas, and through breeding distrust, suspicion, and paranoia in the world. In the name of “national security,” we are told ever more frequently that we should not know what is happening behind closed doors in government. Yet we are encouraged to keep vigilant watch over our neighbors, over those who question the government, and over those who look or act different from us, as they could secretly be terrorists in sheep’s clothing. Rampant suspicion and secrecy are causing us to lose touch with the common humanity we share with all around us.

Polarization leads to “us vs. them” ways of thinking. Divide and conquer is a tactic that has been used successfully by the power elite of the world for centuries. As long as people focus on blaming and attacking “the enemy,” they are not likely to look for the deeper causes of their problems. Controlling factions of the power elite work to keep public and media attention focused on issues which divide us into two polarized camps, so that their greatest concerns of power and control go unnoticed. The power brokers then control both sides of the divided public by assuring that corporate ownership of the media and key candidates from all political parties support their deeper power and polarization agendas, which often involve war profiteering.

A final subtle, yet powerful method of gaining control is to distract people from their purpose in life. Consider that television, radio, and movies are filled with ever more greed, violence, and empty sex. Our educational system increasingly prioritizes passing tests over developing intelligence and creativity. Excessive corporate control of the media limits what news we receive, and often shapes our decisions and the way we think. Our attention is subtly being diverted from our deeper purpose in life to the more superficial attractions of sex, consumerism, and money.

As people succumb to fear, secrecy, and polarization, and as they lose touch with their sense of purpose in life, elements of the global elite are able to exert ever more control over our lives and world.

The New Paradigm

What can we do about all this? Ultimately, it is the collective fear, secrecy, polarization, and loss of purpose within all of us that has allowed leaders to take power who would subvert democracy, and who would take away our freedoms and liberties. By each one of us making a commitment to work on these issues both inside of ourselves and out in the world—and to inspire others to do the same—we can change our collective direction and build a solid foundation for a brighter future. Several actions can help us to take firm steps in that direction.
