President Ron Paul = Good as Gold

This is basic cause and effect in action, my friends: Gold hit $1,000/oz. today, while investors and news anchors are busy acting surprised that the markets are crashing after The Federal Reserve was nice enough to print another $200 billion of imaginary money.

Here’s what Ron Paul had to say to Congress about gold and The Federal Reserve back in April of 2006, I highly encourage you to read the full statement:

“Holding gold is protection or insurance against government’s proclivity to debase its currency. The purchasing power of gold goes up not because it’s a so-called good investment; it goes up in value only because the paper currency goes down in value. In our current situation, that means the dollar.

…The Fed tries to keep the consumer spending spree going, not through hard work and savings, but by creating artificial wealth in stock market bubbles and housing bubbles. When these distortions run their course and are discovered, the corrections will be quite painful.

…If ever there was a time to get a handle on what sound money is and what it means, that time is today.”

In case you’re somehow still oblivious to this fact: Ron Paul knows his s—t when it comes to economics. So once again, I say to my fellow citizens: THIS COUNTRY NEEDS RON PAUL AS PRESIDENT, or we’re f—ked, quite simply.

Ron Paul for President

Dr. Paul has been speaking out about the necessity of a sound monetary system for years. Decades even. Just yesterday he made these comments to the House of Representatives regarding the 2009 Federal Budget:

“Mr. Chairman, I am pleased to address the House tonight about the budget because there has been a lot of concern expressed here today on both sides of the aisle about the kind of financial trouble we’re in. And there’s no doubt about that. But sometimes I think we go back and forth spending more time blaming each other rather than dealing with the real problem.

One of the contentions I’ve had about the budget is that we look at it as an accounting problem rather than a philosophy problem because the spending occurs because of what we accept as the proper role of government. And right now, it’s assumed by the country as well as the Congress that the proper role of government is to run our lives, run the economy, run the welfare state, and police the world. And all of a sudden, it puts a lot of pressure on the budget.

Today, the national debt is going up almost $600 billion. And the economy is getting weaker, there’s no doubt about it. We’re in a recession, it’s going to get much worse, which means that the deficit is going to get a lot worse. And I’m predicting within a couple of years, it will not surprise me one bit to see the national debt, the national obligation for future generations to rise in 1 year three-quarters of $1 trillion. And that is a very possible number.

And then there were 3.

Fred Thompson
Rudy Giuliani
Mitt Romney
Mike Huckabee
John McCain
Ron Paul

Take a quick look back at how far we’ve come!

I wish I had time to write some original content for a change, but the Ohio Primary is in less than 4 weeks (after which maybe I’ll finally write a post without the words “Ron Paul” in it) and I’ve got LOTS of canvassing work left to do. Which reminds me — BECOME A PRECINCT CAPTAIN! Seriously, it’s been proven that it works wonders in turning out voters (here’s one quick example.) If I can do it, you can do it.

To stave off the staleness, here’s a good quick read to keep the Revolution motivation going:

Ron Paul Out of the Race?

by Sean Michaels

Do you think it is over for Ron Paul now that Super Tuesday is over? This is an absolute win for Ron Paul. We all always knew that Ron Paul was not going to get enough delegates to steal the nomination. He just needs enough to bring to the convention, which he has. The plan was to make it to a brokered convention, so that the message would get out to all of the republicans. The delegates are in fact uncommitted and many of them may not even know who Ron Paul is.

By having a brokered convention, they will all hear the message, no matter how the media has tried to black him out. The media will have no choice but to show the good doctor and his message as the whole thing will be televised. It will be run by the GOP, not the biased main stream media. This is what we need. Everyone will be watching if there is a brokered convention, Republican and Democrat. Whether the good doctor gets elected or not, the seed of freedom will be planted.

People will start to awaken from their apathy and question the things going on around them. It happened to me, and all it took was hearing Ron Paul speak 1 time. I used to watch Fox News almost exclusively when I was in the Army, and even after I had gotten out. I didn’t even notice that the Neocons were hijacking the Republican Party. After hearing Ron Paul speak in length, and agreeing with so much of what he said, I did some more research on him and the Libertarian Party. I realized that I am not only a conservative Republican, I am also a Libertarian. Ronald Reagan once said, “If you analyze it, I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism”. This speaks volumes to all those who think that Mitt Romney is a conservative and it is laughable to think that McCain is. Having said that, I think that no matter which way you lean politically, we all have a little libertarian in us. We are all Americans. This country was founded on the platform Ron Paul is running his campaign on.

There is still hope for our economy, and his name is Ron Paul.

Today, Ron Paul put forth his “Prescription for Prosperity: Comprehensive Economic Revitalization Plan.”

Fortunately, for the looming global recession, it’s a little more involved than printing up another $140 billion out of thin air [thus increasing inflation even more] and sending everyone a check.

You want to really save your country? Donate Bush’s economic “stimulus” check to Ron Paul. Then, we might have a chance.

This is what Dr. Ron Paul has proposed:

Introduction
America became the greatest, most prosperous nation in human history through low taxes, constitutionally limited government, personal freedom and a belief in sound money. We need to return to these principles so our economy can thrive again. When enacted, my plan will provide both short-term stimulus and lay the groundwork for long-term prosperity.

Other candidates talk a lot about stimulus packages, but my record stands alone. I have fought for these measures for years as a member of Congress and will make them a top priority as president.

The Four-Point Plan

  1. Tax Reform: Reduce the tax burden and eliminate taxes that punish investment and savings, including job-killing corporate taxes.
  2. Spending Reform: Eliminate wasteful spending. Reduce overseas commitments. Freeze all non-defense, non-entitlement spending at current levels.
  3. Monetary Policy Reform: Expand openness at the Federal Reserve and require the Fed to televise its meetings. Return value to our money.
  4. Regulatory Reform: Repeal Sarbanes/Oxley regulations that push companies to seek capital outside of US markets. Stop restricting community banks from fostering local economic growth.

Ron Paul. No question.

I could write quite a bit about tonight’s Republican “debate” on CNN, but it’s after midnight and I’d like to get some sleep so I’ll try to contain myself.

Let’s just say that — as expected — the “debate” was basically a joke. It wasn’t even close to being a debate, it was a pathetic and staged Question & Answer session. Complete with planted question-posing-citizens and not even a speck of diversity in the audience. Ten old white men on the stage, watched by a crowd of expressionless white people.

The questions? Irrelevant. Predictable. Same as every election. Buzz words and fear tactics galore. Racist, sexist, ethnocentric cowards preaching their strongly held Pro-Life stances while at the same time emphasizing the need to wage preemptive war on “Islamic Extremists” who “worship death.” They talked about how great Freedom and Liberty is in this country as if our civil liberties still stand fully in tact. They reminded us that we still need to get “them” over there so they don’t get us over here. You remember 9/11 right? Giuliani just wants to make sure you don’t forget. Oh and also don’t forget— every human life is sacred (unless you’re in the Middle East, or gay) and evolution is a lie.

People are still swallowing this stuff? Do they really think that gays openly serving in the military is one of the most important issues facing our country right now? Come on Wolf Blitzer, ask them some real questions.

Okay okay, I said I wouldn’t write that much. Let’s get to the polls. The follow-up polls on CNN.com and MSNBC right now (midnight) show Ron Paul KICKING MAJOR ASS. Yet he continues to be totally ignored by the so-called “political analysts” as has been the case this entire time. You wouldn’t even know he was there tonight if you went only by their commentary. But if you look at the voting results, you’ll get a whole different story.

CNN has Ron Paul winning the debate with 53% of the votes, knowing the most about the issues, having the best one-liner/comeback, and more.

MSNBC has Paul “standing out from the pack” with 63% of the votes (Romney trailing in 2nd place with a lousy 10%.) He is also sweeping the second question, “Showing the most leadership qualities” with 60% (2nd place is Romney with 11%.) But wait, there’s more! Who is the “most convincing candidate” you wonder? Why, that’d be Ron Paul with 62% of the votes! I’m sensing a trend here…

Poor Giuliani is not faring very well at all, despite the pundits’ state-of-denial. I hate to give the general public any credit anymore because I am always left terribly disappointed, but it’s almost as if people are realizing he was in on 9/11 and are finally getting pissed about it. They might even know that Giuliani knew since the ’93 WTC bombing that the FDNY’s radios didn’t work inside steel buildings, but wanted to uphold his Motorola contract so he kept his mouth shut and 343 firefighters died (as a result of not being able to hear the evacuation orders.) Not to mention that he allowed the largest crime scene in American history to be quickly scooped up and sold as scrap while victims were still being searched for in the rubble and some were eventually turned into pothole filling. But enough about bloody-handed Giuliani.

This country needs Ron Paul NOW. As I said to my friend tonight, imagine his popularity once people realize he’s already taken legislative steps to abolish the Federal Income Tax!

Just in time for Memorial Day, Ron Paul reminds us what Patriotism really means

It’s a long speech, but definitely worth reading. You can also watch it on Google Video (24 minutes.)

This man wants to be President? No wonder the Republican Party is scared $hitless.

“…But let it not be said that we did nothing. Let not those who love the power of the welfare/warfare state label the dissenters of authoritarianism as unpatriotic or uncaring. Patriotism is more closely linked to dissent than it is to conformity and a blind desire for safety and security. Understanding the magnificent rewards of a free society makes us unbashful in its promotion, fully realizing that maximum wealth is created and the greatest chance for peace comes from a society respectful of individual liberty.”

From Tuesday’s Congressional Record:

Madam Speaker, for some, patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel. For others, it means dissent against a government’s abuse of the people’s rights.

I have never met a politician in Washington or any American, for that matter, who chose to be called unpatriotic. Nor have I met anyone who did not believe he wholeheartedly supported our troops, wherever they may be.

What I have heard all too frequently from the various individuals are sharp accusations that, because their political opponents disagree with them on the need for foreign military entanglements, they were unpatriotic, un-American evildoers deserving contempt.

The original American patriots were those individuals brave enough to resist with force the oppressive power of King George. I accept the definition of patriotism as that effort to resist oppressive state power.

The true patriot is motivated by a sense of responsibility and out of self-interest for himself, his family, and the future of his country to resist government abuse of power. He rejects the notion that patriotism means obedience to the state. Resistance need not be violent, but the civil disobedience that might be required involves confrontation with the state and invites possible imprisonment.

Peaceful, nonviolent revolutions against tyranny have been every bit as successful as those involving military confrontation. Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., achieved great political successes by practicing nonviolence, and yet they suffered physically at the hands of the state. But whether the resistance against government tyrants is nonviolent or physically violent, the effort to overthrow state oppression qualifies as true patriotism.

True patriotism today has gotten a bad name, at least from the government and the press. Those who now challenge the unconstitutional methods of imposing an income tax on us, or force us to use a monetary system designed to serve the rich at the expense of the poor are routinely condemned. These American patriots are sadly looked down upon by many. They are never praised as champions of liberty as Gandhi and Martin Luther King have been.

On this day…

On March 23rd, 1775 Patrick Henry famously declared:

“Give me liberty, or give me death!”

Now, Pop Quiz!

  1. With liberty and justice for all” right? What’s the actual definition of liberty?
  2. How do Patriot Acts I & II affect our civil liberties?
  3. Is it worth giving up our liberties in exchange for supposed security?

The answers:

  1. “Liberty” is defined as “a condition in which an individual has immunity from the arbitrary exercise of authority.”
  2. Do you really wanna know?
  3. If you believe the words of that crackpot/moonbat Benjamin Franklin, he said:

“Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.”

Give me liberty or give me death!

Just some things Mr. Henry would probably like us to think about…
